Be a better person
The Olympics is a lifetime event. Lawrence Lemieux stopped
racing in an Olympic yacht race to help a fellow competitor who was in trouble.
The whole world was watching. His priority of safety and concern for other
people’s lives was greater than his desire to win. Even though he did not win
the race, he was a winner. He was honored by kings and queens all over the
world.
Money will buy a great dog but only kindness will make him
wag his tail.
Kindness is the language the deaf can hear and the blind can
see. It is better to treat a person with kindness while he is living than
display flowers on his grave when he is dead. Kind words never hurt the tongue.
Nobody is going to remember how rich, beautiful or
intelligent you were after your death, but they will remember how you made them
feel. It is never too soon for kindness
because we don’t know how soon is too late.
“Resolve to be tender with the young, compassionate with the
aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak and wrong. Because
some time in our lives we would have been all these ourselves.” – Lloyd Shearer
